Packaging Team Lead

Position Summary

Catalent is looking to recruit a Packaging Team Lead to join a growing Operations department at our site in Woodstock, IL. Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Every other Saturday 6pm to 6am.

The Packaging Team Lead will be responsible for packaging and inspecting pharmaceutical products in accordance with packaging instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), while adhering to health and safety requirements.

The Role

  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to production associates in the inspection and labelling of products by delegating duties and ensuring packaging operations are completed in a timely manner and per SOPs

  • Perform packaging line set-ups, start-ups, shutdowns, and clearances and inform production leadership of product or equipment problems

  • Manage and ensure accuracy of all documentation required in the Packaging Work Order (PWO)

  • Ensure adherence to production schedule and identify discrepancies to include sanitization, material handling, rework, units produced, and downtime

  • Perform daily resource planning including scheduling of production associates to lines

  • Attend daily pass down meetings at the beginning and end of every shift to transition smoothly between production shifts and maintain the flow of a 24x7 production facility

The Candidate

  • Minimum of a High School diploma

  • Minimum of one year experience working in a regulated, GMP facility, preferably in the aseptic pharmaceutical arena (sterile tech and food industry is also acceptable)

  • Understands good documentation practices and has a high attention to detail

  • Experience performing dimensional evaluations and functional testing

  • Demonstrated ability to lead production associates

  • Experience in a packaging operation is beneficial
