The Supply Chain Manager reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

Windsor, Ontario is one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. The Supply Chain Manager will create and maintain a master schedule that support sales forecasts, establishes guidelines and develops production schedules for manufacturing departments in conjunction with production planning staff. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the execution plan to deliver products to our customers, on time and in full including the scheduling of material, equipment and resources to optimally meet customer expectations.

The Role

  • Directs production planning to ensure on time availability of products to fill customer orders and on time shipments. Expedite operations that delay schedules, and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Identify key performance indicators in the process and provide visibility on results, trends and required actions.

  • Develop work center capacity models using 18-month forecast, Product Innovation and Engineering (trials and shutdowns) demand for review by Production Management team to develop recommendations to meet base and upside demand.

  • Maintains safety, health and environmental procedures. Identifies, investigates, corrects and documents potential environmental and safety problems.

  • Achieves financial objectives within Warehouse and Logistics areas by preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, compiling and studying costs, initiating corrective actions and implementing improvements.

  • Establish a strong Warehouse and Logistics team by assigning responsibilities, delegating authority, recruiting, orienting, and training employees.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management; completion of CPIM (APICS), CSCM or CPM certification or demonstrated progress towards certification

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in supply chain management/logistics.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility;

  • Knowledge of MRP systems; direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation management.

  • Solid project management skills are essential.
