Commercial Operations Manager
The Commercial Operations Manager works in close collaboration with the Vice Presidents of Business Development and drives various operating mechanisms and process improvements to maximize sales performance.
The Commercial Operations Manager role is highly cross-functional and requires close collaboration with Business Development, Manufacturing Operations, Finance, R&D, Marketing, & Incentive Compensation teams to provide direction/recommendations to the Sales Leadership team.
The Commercial Operations Manager reports to the Vice President, Sales Force Effectiveness.
In concert with Catalent’s Patient First philosophy, this position is key in our
efforts toward continuous improvement of our processes & information which will
allow quality drug products to reach patients safely and efficiently.
The Role (daily responsibilities)
Performs territory analytics in to maximize coverage, win rate, and overall sales efficiencies and makes the recommendation on adjustments needed.
Organizes and drives sales funnel review calls with the business development teams monthly and generates consolidated sales forecasts.
Leads the annual target setting analytics working closely with the finance sales leadership team (for both Revenue and Sales)
Collaborates with the Incentive Compensation team to monitor monthly progression/performance.
Assists in the annual Strategic Planning processes, providing necessary analysis, metrics, commentary, and recommendations to the business units leadership team
Performs analytics such as cost to serve, customer profitability, market trends to support pricing activities
Acts as the business unit expert for Salesforce.com CRM system; providing reporting, training, problem-solving, and data validation & review
The Candidate (requirements)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience preferably in finance
Bachelors, MBA, Six Sigma Certification desired.
Strong leadership skills and ability to lead change
Ability to process data and apply critical business thinking to come up with simple recommendations
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
Willingness to travel globally at the various Catalent sites
Ability to work with tools such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Voyager.
