Accounting Analyst

Catalent Pharma in San Diego, CA is hiring an Accounting Analyst. We are seeking a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple objectives and projects successfully. This person will act as the liaison between the accounting and project management departments which will require strong communication skills and ability to work with others. Daily activities will require the ability to read contracts, extract contract details, prepare spreadsheets and work with other teams to properly invoice and recognize revenue from a multitude of clients. This will require attention to detail and a strong ability to navigate through a multifaceted network of clients with multiple contracts and amendments. This person will also have good time management skills and ability to consistently meet required timelines.

This is a full-time position: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm

The Role

  • Order to cash process including: Keep track of all new signed contracts. Enter all new contracts into billing update (power apps) and forecast tracking sheet;

  • Update and maintain multiple excel spreadsheets: Client List-names, addresses, contacts, signed contracts, purchase orders, forecast tracking spreadsheet, stability spreadsheet, billing update;

  • Work with Project Management to track revenue completion dates;

  • Invoice completion of milestones and create credit memos in QuickBooks;

  • Work with materials team to invoice for Quarterly storage and all shipments (outside of power apps);

  • Month End Close Duties including: Ensuring invoices are entered timely for month end close (within 2 days of the end of the month). AR analysis. Backlog tracking;

  • Accounting Duties (Also included in month end): Deferred revenue recognition. Accrued revenue recognition. Revenue reconciliation. Intercompany invoices. Assist with Audit requests.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; OR MBA (Masters in Business Administration or CPA(Certified Public Accountant) is a plus; OR High school diploma plus a minimum of 6 years of relatable experience;

  • 2+ years Accounts Receivable or Accounting experience required;

  • QuickBooks, Excel- Intermediate-PowerApps skills and JD Edwards highly preferred;

  • Knowledge of ASC 606 Revenue recognition standard a plus;

  • Strong organizational skills and time management. Self-Starter and ability to prioritize and manage multiple objectives and projects successfully. Strong interpersonal and cross-organizational communication skills;

  • Physical requirements: Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds; ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Regular use of telephone and email. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and fax machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.

Pay:

  • The anticipated salary range for this role in San Diego, CA is $65,000 - $75,000 annually. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
