Job Title: Senior Operational Leader, Pharmacist in Charge

Reports to: General Manager

Location: Kansas City

Position Summary

The Senior Operational Leader, Pharmacist in Charge will be responsible for the oversight and execution of Direct to Patient (DTP) shipments in support of clinical protocols that are approved for DTP services. This role requires a valid license to practice pharmacy in MO. The Pharmacist in Charge will also be a member of the site leadership team and manage specific aspects of supply chain/operations.

The Role

  • Responsible for oversight/maintenance of the pharmacy location within the CSS facility.

  • Review/fill orders based on clinical protocol direct to patient “shipment orders”

  • Takes full responsibility for ensuring the correct medication is “dispensed” to patients enrolled in clinical trials.

  • Understands, implements and maintains Pharmacy Board Standards within the facility

  • Organises the pharmacy in an efficient manner, making the clear identification and separation of products a priority

  • Maintains HIPAA compliance in all functions of the job.

  • Responsible for maintaining all pharmacy records

The Candidate

  • Pharmacy Degree (BS or PharmD) is required with a minor in business (this is a plus). Pharmacy work experience preferred along with pharmaceutical operations experience is preferred.

  • Licensed Pharmacist in MO – valid, current license required. Licensed/certified in other states’ pharmacy law a plus. Ability to become licensed/certified in other states’ pharmacy law is a plus.

  • Ability to work with Controlled Drug Products and other speciality pharmaceuticals. Knowledge of Clinical Trials, Clinical Supplies, Clinical Supplies Distribution – preferred.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and working knowledge of pharmacy software & MS Office.

  • Occasional need to work “off hours” for emergency patient shipments. Will be able to travel to meet responsibilities of the role.
