Manager, Community Programs

The role of the Manager, Community Programs is to coordinate employee-driven charitable giving and volunteer projects at Catalent sites around the world, with the aim of increasing employee engagement in the programs over time and enhancing the scope and impact of Catalent’s relationship with community organizations.

Position Summary

The Manager, Community Programs is responsible for effectively managing and growing the participation in and impact of the Catalent Cares suite of community programs, in support of Catalent’s CR strategy. These programs include Matching Gifts (MG), Employee Volunteer Grants (EVG), Catalent Month of Service (CMS), Earth Month, and the site-based Community Grant Program.

The Manager, Community Programs will report to the Director, Corporate Responsibility.

In concert with Catalent’s Patient First philosophy, this position is key in our

efforts toward continuous improvement of our processes & information which will

allow quality drug products to reach patients safely and efficiently.

The Role (daily responsibilities)

  • Developing community partnerships, building executive support and increasing employee participation in community projects that strengthen the Catalent brand and increase visibility

  • Building a more dynamic, interactive communication strategy to increase visibility for both internal and external community stakeholders

  • Delivering year-over-year increases in employee engagement across the matching gift and volunteer programs. This includes:

  • Leading the network of community engagement ambassadors and ensuring their alignment with the CR strategy

  • Training and supporting the network of community engagement ambassadors to scale and manage local community programs

  • Leveraging the recently implemented Catalent Cares-YourCause platform to effectively manage community programs

  • Overseeing translation of the Catalent Cares-YourCause site into our working languages of Catalent by end of Year 1

  • Developing strategies to launch the new EVG Program in FY19

  • Developing and scaling Catalent’s Community Grant Program to support STEM and/or other patient-centered programs and ensure community partnerships are well-aligned with business priorities. This includes:

  • Rolling community grant program out to approximately 20 Catalent sites in FY19

  • Increasing the number of patient site grants and the number of strategic university (STEM-related) partnerships/grants

  • Maintaining internal and external communications resources to raise awareness about the CR/Community Strategy with key internal and external stakeholders. This includes:

  • Developing and managing year-round communications calendar, coordinating with various communications stakeholders and media teams to engage employees in Catalent Cares programs

  • Maintaining and populating Community inter- and intra-net web pages

  • Cultivating annual community program reports that (1) evaluate the success of the programs and (2) help communicate the program impact to key stakeholders

  • Enhancing communications and senior management engagement across all community programs

  • Increasing visibility of Catalent Cares Community Programs externally

  • Designing a tiered volunteer recognition strategy for individuals, teams and sites that demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and impact in their respective community programs

The Candidate (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Experience in a global organization strongly preferred

  • 5-7 years of prior corporate experience in developing, implementing and managing large-scale global employee community engagement, social responsibility programs;

  • Impeccable attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at once; Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate genuine commitment towards strengthening our communities

  • Skilled in program execution and project management

  • Ability to set, manage and analyze a range of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure performance and inform strategic decisions

  • Familiarity with the YourCause GrantsConnect and CSRConnect platforms a plus

  • Project a sincere passion for community engagement and volunteers, and embrace volunteerism

  • High-level thinker and of curious mind with the ability to (respectfully) question or suggest ways to improve a process or project

Travel: US based travel – once a month.
