Director, Business Development, Biologics – Europe

Home based with EU travel

Position Summary

The Director, Business Development, Drug Product – Europe, will accelerate the growth of our Biologics Drug Product business by leading a team of Account Executives/Directors collectively responsible for selling Catalent’s drug product and packaging capabilities. The Director is accountable for achieving Revenue, Sales, Quotes and Funnel goals and for ensuring the staffing, engagement, and development of the individuals within the team.

He/she will be the primary point-of-contact for customers within the territory and will provide support to our growing dedicated business development organization, including providing direct customer facing support for key opportunities, and coaching and mentoring BD staff related to our biologics capabilities.

The Role

  • Promote Drug Product service offering within the territory and relevant Global Account Director/Global Account Leader accounts

  • Manage and enable contract negotiations in a timely, effective manner

  • Lead Account Executives/Directors to achieve revenue, sales, quote & funnel goals and individual growth & development goals

  • Achieve individual sales, revenue & funnel goals and individual growth goals, for key accounts.

  • Define the sales strategy/product priorities for the biologics drug product offering

  • Engage with senior customer management to provide sales leverage, Catalent perspective and a channel for major opportunities and issues on behalf of direct reports

  • Ensure customer is up to date with any new products within the technology

  • Collaborate with Account Directors/Account Executives in the construction and execution of their strategic account plan(s)

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business administration or another related field.

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or Masters of business administration / commercially orientated degree is advantageous but not essential.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales, Business Development or Project Management

  • Sales/business development experience in the contract pharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Thorough understanding of Drug Product manufacturing is a plus.

  • Experience in negotiating Development and License agreements would be advantageous but not essential
