The Director, Continuous Improvement, Consumer Health (CH) is responsible for overall Continuous Improvement (CI) excellence across Consumer Health Division. This includes building the CI roadmap, identifying, and monitoring Key Performance Indicators and metrics, deploying new tools and processes that improve operations, delivering CI specific training, and supporting culture change initiatives. The site-based CI leaders at each CH site will have a dotted line reporting relationship to this role.

The Director, Continuous Improvement will collaborate with the CH Division, Function, and Site leaders to align on priorities and specific targets (i.e. safety, quality, delivery, cost) This is a highly collaborative and influencing role, as site CI leaders will frequently require support of cross-functional team members who report to the Division or functions. Aligned with the Division Presidents, the CH senior leadership team and functional leaders, there will be with strong targets and success will be determined by meeting or exceeding specific financial, quality, growth, customer satisfaction and delivery targets.

Culture change initiatives will include: The Catalent Way, Patient First as part of all CI efforts, reliable execution of CI initiatives, including metric attainment and minimization of crisis remediations.

This role will provide CI subject matter expertise, leadership, and support to CI colleagues in the areas of: Lean deployment, Benchmarking, Maturity Assessments, Lean & Six Sigma training, Project Definition and selection, DMAIC, Change Management, and all activities related to sustained cultural change.

The Role:

  • Define and manage a process for Best Practice Sharing across the Consumer Health Network and with the rest of Catalent. Define and deploy a business unit process for multi-site improvement projects identification, evaluation, prioritization, execution (tracking, reporting) and define and manage a process to collect and transfer knowledge between sites. Jointly develop a process for Best Practices sharing the CI Directors of the other Business Units.

  • Be the program manager for the Consumer Health "The Catalent Way" lean initiative Roadmap. Facilitate an operating cadence for reviewing local and cross-site improvements initiatives and evaluating their budgetary impact. Ensure 100% alignment on project benefits with the local and corporate Finance Teams.

  • Manage the weekly SQDCP (Safety Quality Delivery, Cost, People) calls with the sites ensuring metrics are reported timely and consistently. Organize the monthly operating mechanisms for the Consumer Health leadership group review of manufacturing sites performance.

  • Coach and support the Continuous Improvement teams of the Consumer Health manufacturing sites.

  • When required, support the Consumer Health Leadership Team with deep dives, specific analysis, maturity assessment, etc. Lead, when necessary, specific improvement initiatives with a multi-site scope.

  • This is a global role and will require 30% travel.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor of Science in Technical or Financial or related discipline. Advanced (MS or MBA) degree or Master Black Belt or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Operations and/or Continuous Improvement roles in complex manufacturing environments, preferably in a consumer health/regulated work environment.

  • Excellent communication & presentation content creation skills of complex data to differing levels of organizations.

  • Substantial hands-on experience in manufacturing operations

  • Demonstrated mastery of quality improvement methods such as LEAN, Six Sigma.

  • Experience working to regulatory standards: FDA, Good Engineering Practice (GEP), Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Good Documentation Procedures (GDP).
